The last tree lighting of the season

treepainting.gif

It's taken me forever to take down my Christmas tree and now that its gone, I kind of miss it. I've been reminiscing by going back though tree photos from last month. Although I didn't take many photos of my own tree, I did take the opportunity to drive around neighborhoods in the Bay Area looking for the perfect outdoor tree to take photos of.

Alex and I found this one somewhere outside of Walnut Creek, CA. We parked the car, I set my camera up on the hood of the car, and we ran over to the tree to paint with light from our cell phones while the camera took 30 second exposures.

It may look like I'm calling this tree crappy, because of the letters surrounding it, but we actually loved this little tree so much that we light'ly carved our initials into it! (C.R. & A.P.)

Remembering my favorite star dust

When I found out about David Bowie as a kid, he was the first person to show me that you didn't have to act, dress, or create things to be easily digested by other people. He was just who he was and created what seemed right for him and I've never stopped being inspired by his life. I was in love with his brain. I was SO in love that I had dreams of marring him and having the silliest wife name in all the land of matrimony! I would be Mrs. Chloe Bowie. ( I just sighed as I typed it)

It's been a year since David Bowie died and seeing the creative ways that people shared their sadness over it, was just as inspiring to me. I had about an hour to spare and wanted to post something from my brain that he helped mold. The animation I came up with is quick and shoddy but it was so satisfying to get it out.

I'm lucky enough to be surrounded by some really incredible people in my life. This year, I'm determined to capture the and fit them in my pocket forever! (or at least until my phone photo memory fills up) I've started taking portraits of people I get to hang out with from day to day.

Heres some of my favorite portraits from my recent trip to New York.

Making a Ghost and a Mess!

I'm lucky to live with someone who is so inspiring and talented. I'm also lucky to live with such a cute pup that follows him around, endlessly.

Alex is preparing for his new show, alongside Matt Ritchie, at Gallery 1988!
I asked him if I could hang around and film him from start to finish as he made a new piece for it!

The video and info on the show got a post on Juxtapoz!
