My grandma and her sister at midnight 2017

I'm lucky enough to be surrounded by some really incredible people in my life. This year, I'm determined to capture the and fit them in my pocket forever! (or at least until my phone photo memory fills up) I've started taking portraits of people I get to hang out with from day to day.

Heres some of my favorite portraits from my recent trip to New York.

Hong Kong

Getting ready to head out to China. I'm interested to see what Shanghai is like. All I have to compare it to is the time I spent in Hong Kong which was under British rule for so long, that I wonder is it very different? Is trying to make this comparison similar to trying to find the similarities between New York and Los Angeles, just because they're cities in the same country? WHO KNOWS!!

What the excitment for this trip HAS gotten me to do was revisit some shots I took from Hong Kong. It was such a vibrant and unique place, that I can't wait to go back to the waaay East Coast!

Over the weekend, my best friend came in for a visit. Last time he was visiting us, Alex and I were living in San Francisco and we took a sporadic day trip down to LA to go to Disneyland.

It only seemed appropriate to make a goal out of going to as many Disney parks as we can, within our friendship. So we went to Disney World!
I had big plans of pulling out the old bulky Fuji land camera, and bringing my new little personal camera, but when we finally got into the park, I realized I had forgotten them at home! I ended up just using my iPhone and had such a fun day. Even after my phones battery died.

Surplus Candy LA

While I was out in LA for work, I found out that one of my favorite fellow pun masters Hanksy was on the west coast turning an abandon mansion into a one night only art show. He and a group of others that are super crafty with a can of spray paint dominated the mansion in a top secret location, painting nearly every crevice of the rickety 4 story interior with tags and art and puns! I got to come in for a sneak preview and take some photos.
